Calling all dedicated flea
market shoppers! Canton’s First Monday Trade
Days, one of themost popular Texas attractions,
started more than a century ago as a day for
farmers and townspeople to buy and sell their
wares. This has turned into a mammoth venue for as many as
6,000 vendors selling everything from brand new Western para-
phernalia to garage sale kitsch. Find everything from antiques to
candles, rugs to paintings, jewelry to hand knitted baby blankets.
Beginning earlywith a rest break at Collin Street Bakery (Waco),
we will arrive inCanton close to lunch time. Youwill be provided
a box lunch, which youmay eat on the bus if you prefer. Sandwich
choices (when you purchase ticket): roasted turkeywithMuenster
cheese on croissant OR Black Forest ham with Swiss on crois-
sant. Chips, chocolate chip cookie and bottle of water included.
After a day of shopping we will return via Waco for a rest stop
where you can purchase snacks or a sandwich.
Note: Comfortablewalking shoes, ahat, layers of clothing,
sunscreen, bottledwater aremusts. If you have a tote on
wheels, bring it along and youwill be ahead of the game.
Some vendors accept credit cards; many accept only cash.
There will be plenty of room in the lower compartment
of the bus for larger purchases.
Ticket cost includes transportation and lunch.

begins with a tour of Southfork Ranch. For

, one of history’s longest-running series.
Viewers made themselves at home at Southfork, home of the
Ewings. Now we can visit this famous Texas ranch and see the
lifestyle portrayed in the series.
Next is the luxurious Omni hotel where we will be staying. Larry
Hagman and LindaGrey of
Dallas
series fame were at the Omni
ribbon cutting opening ceremony. The hotel, located in the heart
of Dallas, is close to restaurants, shops, entertainment andmore.
Saturday morning we will tour the Cowboy Stadium and in the
afternoonwe visit Dealey Plaza, where The Sixth FloorMuseum
chronicles the assassination and legacy of President John F.
