Our overnight stay will be at the Holiday Inn Express in Web-
ster. All rooms come with two queen-size beds.
No other room
arrangements available.
After hotel check-in, the bus will take us to the Kemah Board-
walk where you can shop and eat on your own at waterfront
restaurants, such as Landry’s, Bubba Gump, Saltgrass, Cadillac
Bar and others.
On Day 2, after breakfast at the hotel, we will spend about
five hours at the San Jacinto Battleground, the historic site
where the famous battle that brought Texas its independence
was fought. Our first stop will be the
Battleship Texas
, the last
of the battleships that participated in both WWI and WWII.
You will have a one-hour, self-guided tour of the upper deck.
After a box lunch at the water’s edge, a tour guide will step
on the bus and give us a tour of the battleground.
Our next stopwill be the San JacintoMonument dedicated to the
“Heroes of the Texas Independence.” At the monument, enjoy a
trip up to the observation deck and visit themuseumon your own.
On the return to Sun City, we will stop for dinner at the Chap-
pell Hill Deli for a one-meat plate with two sides, plus a piece of
pecan or cherry pie. Bring drinks and snacks on the bus, camera
and comfortable shoes.
Ticket cost includes transportation, Space Center admission and
tour, hotel roomwith breakfast, entrance fees to
Battleship Texas
and San Jacinto Monument, box lunch and Chappell Hill Deli
dinner. Deadline to purchase tickets is October 10.

will be available with ample time for a beverage of your choice.

After dinner, we will board our motor coach and go to Esther’s
Follies in downtown Austin for nonstop laughter. This show is
a good mix of skits related to timely current events, magic to
amaze you, great music and incredible costumes—all with a
Texas-sized sense of humor. If you have been to Esther’s Follies
in the past, join us again. Thematerial is fresh and funnier than
you remember. First-timers, you haven’t seen anything until you
go to Esther’s Follies for an evening full of hearty laughter. They
have been the talk of the town for years. If laughter is good for
the soul, this show will add years to your life!
