Grapevine Wine Fest
Saturday, September 14, $54 pp
Depart SCPL 7:30 a.m.; Return 7 p.m.
We’re toasting Texas Wines at the 26th
annual Grapefest, the largest wine festival in
the Southwest. Grapevine’s love of the “vine”
began with the Mustang grapes that grew in
this part of the prairie and continues today
as eight wineries call the city their headquarters. This four-
day street party on Historic Main Street features food, arts
and crafts, live entertainment and, of course, wine tasting.
You’ll be able to cast your vote for the best wine in Texas at
the People’s Choice Wine Tasting Classic, then stroll past
unique shops, art galleries, an old Cotton Belt Clock Tower
and public bronze sculptures. We’ll even take time to view the
9/11 Flight Crew Memorial, the first memorial built to honor
our fallen heroes.
You’ll be on your own to shop, eat or just sit back and listen
to the entertainment before meeting for our Wine Tasting
adventure at 1 p.m.
On the way to the Festival, we’ll stop at Collin Street Bakery,
one of our favorites, for coffee and treats. Coming home, we
will make a fast-food stop in Waco.
Since this is an outdoor event, bring your sunscreen and a
hat, and wear comfortable shoes.
Ticket cost includes transportation, festival entrance and wine
tasting.
Deadline to purchase tickets is September 9.
