Our trip continues with a one hour, private river barge tour
to the San Antonio Museum of Art. The Museum of Art is one
of the most impressive art museums in Texas and is housed
in the historic 1884 Lone Star Beer Brewery. The perma-
nent collection spans the continents – Asian, European, and
American art through Greek and Roman antiquities. There
is a cafe and gift shop at the museum for that last treat of the
day before we head home from our new view of San Antonio.
Note: This trip has multiple stops, stairs, and a river
boat boarding. Know your own limitations.

is one of the most
gripping stage musicals in history. Discover a
nation in the grip of revolution, where convict
Jean Valjean is on the run. Hunted relent-
lessly by the policeman Javert for breaking
his parole, he must leave his past behind and keep his vow
to raise the young orphaned Cosette. But with revolution in
the air and Javert closing in, Jean Valjean has no choice but
to fight for his life and sacrifice everything to protect the
people he loves.
Best of all, this play will be presented at the ZACH theatre in
Austin, where a limited number of seats gives you an up-close
and personal view of the action. Founded in 1933 as Austin
Civic Theatre, ZACH Theatre is the oldest continuously operat-
ing theatre in Texas and one of ten original resident theatre
companies in America.
Ticket cost includes transportation and theater admission.

After dinner we will go to the Long Center for the season
opener of the Austin Symphony Orchestra. Prior to the concert,
we will hear the always enjoyable and informative pre-concert
talk. The featured artist is pianist Leon Fleisher playing Pro-
kofiev’s Piano Concert #4 in B Flat Major. The ASO will also
performWeber’s Oberon Overture and conclude with excerpts
from Richard Wagner’s The Ring of the Nibelung, in honor of
Wagner’s Bicentennial.
Legendary pianist Leon Fleisher represents the highest stan-
dard of musicianship and, at 84 years young, he continues to
impart his life-affirming artistry throughout the world, thriv-
ing in a sustained career as conductor and soloist, recitalist,
chamber music artist, and master class mentor. A recipient of
numerous honors and awards, Mr. Fleisher received the pres-
tigious Kennedy Center Honors in 2007. In 2006, he was the
subject of the 2006 Oscar and Emmy-nominated documentary
film
Two Hands
.
