Homestead Village Craft Fair – Waco - NEW!
Saturday, November 30, $18 pp
Depart SCPL 8:30 a.m.; Return 5 p.m.
Crisp autumn air, the jingling of draft
horse harnesses, the aroma of barbecue and
fresh-baked breads set the stage for the 26th
annual Homestead Village Crafts Fair. This exposition of fine
crafts and heirloom skills is a fun and educational festival for
folks of all ages. The lineup of activities and demonstrations
is extensive. Sheepdog herding, barn raising, blacksmithing,
butter and cheese making, wood working, gardening, quilt-
ing…the list goes on and on.
You can visit the Old Grist Mill, the Pottery Barn, the Wood
Shop, or the Weavers Studio. You can take a horse-drawn hay-
ride, try your hand at basket weaving, or just stroll the grounds
and sample the fresh, homemade assortment of tempting foods
– fresh apple cider, pastries and breads, cheeses, shish-kabobs
to barbecue. Did I mention maple pecan ice cream?
Musical entertainment throughout the day will include gospel,
bluegrass, and toe-tapping country favorites. This traditional
crafts village showcases a community of craftsmen who have
returned, not to the past, but to enduring values of handcrafts-
manship. Create a new Thanksgiving tradition this year and
join us for the Homestead Crafts Fair.
*Note: Dress for outdoor weather and walking on un-
even grounds.
Ticket cost includes transportation and fair fees.

A Holly Jolly Christmas
in Fredericksburg - NEW!
Friday, December 6, $18
Depart SCPL 2 p.m.; Return 11 p.m.
“Have a holly jolly Christmas . . .
it’s the best time of the year” and it begins in
Fredericksburg with the St. Nikolausmarkt
and Lighted Christmas Parade. The St. Niko-
lausmarkt is a fun-filled festival highlighting Fredericksburg’s
German heritage, with crafts, treats, music, a bit of warm,
spiced wine and friendliness. The town will be dressed in
a vibrant array of holiday decorations including a 26-foot
Christmas Pyramid and a 30-foot Christmas Tree.
A taste of Germany awaits you in the shops and restaurants
from Main Street to the Marketplatz. Clothing, jewelry, and
home decor blend with sausages, schnitzels, sugar cookies and
strudels. Just after sunset when the lights have twinkled on,
the Christmas parade begins. The lighted parade travels from
Market Square down Main Street and back again – lighted
floats, marching bands and Santa Claus. On our way home, we
will make a stop to see the amazing light displays in Johnson
City. A great beginning to a holly jolly Christmas!
Ticket cost includes transportation only.
