I teach group fitness
classes because I enjoy
it! Teaching givesme an
opportunity to exercise,
while at the same time,
helping others learn to
enjoy and appreciate an
improved quality of life through improved
physical and mental health.
I’ve been a swimmer since I learned to
swim at three years of age, and I’ve been
involved in a variety of aquatic programs
ever since, including: synchronized swim-
ming, lifeguarding, teaching and coaching
swimming and training lifeguards, and
water skiing.
I currently hold the Basic Aqua Fitness In-
structor certification. I was also awellness
coach, trained at the Cooper Institute in
Dallas. I have a Bachelor of Science degree
in elementary education and speech and
hearing therapy, a Master of Arts degree
in speech pathology, and a Doctorate in
early childhood education.
When I am not teaching aerobics classes,
I enjoy lap swimming, weight training,
indoor cycling classes, hiking, water skiing,
and working out in general. My husband
and I moved to Sun City in October 2012.
I have one daughter and two granddaugh-
ters who call SunCity “FunCity” and love
to visit.
