JOURNEY:
Ed began running over
30 years ago, in order to compensate
for the sitting-time at work and for
stress relief. He said, “Over time,
running became a key part of me.”
Ed continues to run because he
enjoys it and values the quality of life
it provides. Ed also values both the
competition and camaraderie that
running in races or with a group
provide. Running is about both the
destination and the journey: reaching
the finish line of a race or run, while
meeting a time goal, provides a
feeling of achievement, but there is
also enjoyment en route (although
Ed’s wife doesn’t believe it). He’s
also managed to combine several of
his interests: running, travel, and
history, by running marathons in
Dublin, Quebec, and, hopefully this
September, in Germany.
