Thursday, July 17, $140 pp

The Zach Theatre proudly presents
The Who’s legendary rock opera
Tommy
. This
extravaganza explodes on the stage with well-
remembered hit songs like “Pinball Wizard,”
“SeeMe,” and “I’mFree.” Tommy falls down the rabbit hole into
a Zach-created rock-n-roll landscape where the “deaf, dumb, and
blind” kid encounters Uncle Ernie the Mad Hatter, his mother
the White Queen, Cousin Kevin the Cheshire Cat, the Acid
Red Queen, and his doctors Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum.
This award-winning smash hit is a must-see theatrical jour-
ney where the entire theater becomes a giant pinball machine.
Prior to the performance, we will have an early dinner at Zed’s
Contemporary American Restaurant. Our meal will begin with
a house salad, followed by your entrée choice: 6 oz. sirloin steak
or grilled salmon. Sides include smashed potatoes and seasonal
vegetables, and there is luscious cheesecake for dessert. Beverages
are iced tea, soda, or coffee. Tax and tip are included.
Then we are on to the theater to enjoy the loud, vivacious rock
opera. After the performance a special treat awaits when we
participate in the Zach-sponsored special Champagne andNibbles
after-party event.

Our trip begins with lunch at
one of San Antonio’s most well-known Mexi-

the heritages of the settlers who created Texas. Twenty-seven
cultural and ethnic groups are represented in imaginative exhib-
its featuring religious artifacts, household items, clothing, tools
and more. The museum’s outdoor living history area features a
one-room schoolhouse, a “dog-trot” log house, a barn, an army
barracks, and an adobe house—all typical of Texas architecture
in the mid- to late 1800s. An excellent bookstore and gift shop
are part of the complex. This institute is part of the University
of Texas system.
