Third Annual Jewelry Swap – Trade your Old Junque
for New Treasures!
Do you have a drawer full of costume jewelry that seemed like a
good idea at the time? Be a part of Sun City’s Jewelry Swap on
Friday, August 8—an addition to our already popular annual
Boutique Bazaar. This swap is for fun! Dollar value of items will
not be taken into consideration. This will be a one-for-one swap.
NEW! – Reservation System for Day of Participation
Turn in your jewelry early! Bring your unwanted jewelry (details
below) to the Lifestyle & Activities office no later than noon on
Friday, July 18. When you turn in your jewelry, you will receive
a reservation number for day-of participation. In late July, you
will receive an email with your day-of reservation time.
No more than five (5) jewelry items (necklaces, rings, earrings,
bracelets, brooches, cabochons) can be turned in per person. No
broken items will be accepted.
Put all five items into a Ziploc bag with your name and email
address clearly printed on the bag. Attach earrings to a small
card (business size), and then put into your bag. If items are
likely to tangle, please put them in separate bags.
In late July, detailed day-of-event instructions will be emailed
to all participants.
When you check in at the Jewelry Swap, you will receive one
coupon per donated item, allowing you to choose from among
the other donated items.
Any items remaining at the end of the day will be donated to a
local thrift store.

Lettice, a daffy but enthusiastic expert on
Elizabethan history, is a tour guide at Fus-
tian House, “the dullest home in England.”
Using her vivid imagination and passion, she
theatrically embellishes its historical past with
crowd-pleasing fantasies. Ultimately she must answer to Lotte,
an inspector from the Preservation Trust. Neither impressed
nor entertained by the “creative” history lessons, Lotte fires her.
Not one to give up, Lettice engages the conventional Lotte in a
battle to the death of all that is sacred to the Empire. But Lotte’s
passion for history draws her to Lettice’s romantic world-view
and the two women forge an unlikely friendship in the face of
their dreary modern lives.
