Love, Loss, andWhat I Wore is a play by Nora
Ephron, based on the 1995 book of the same
name by Ilene Beckerman. It is organized as
a series of monologues and has a cast of five
principal women. Like the popular book, Love,
Loss, and What I Wore uses clothing and accessories and the
memories they trigger to tell funny and often poignant stories
that all women can relate to. Contact the director, JudyMcDow-

Start your celebrating at the Veterans Memo-
rial Plaza, complete with a sing-along and
birthday cake. Bring your lawn chair and join the fun!
Pooch Parade
9 a.m., Line up on Texas Drive near Tennis Courts, $1
per entry (Entry is 1 pooch.)
Come see these adorable pets strut their stuff for the honor of
being “Most Patriotic Pooch.” The competition is tough, and walk-
ing the pets through a throng of clapping attendees is sometimes
tougher. You will love to see all these adorable pooches in their
patriotic finery. Purchase $1 ticket in advance for your pooch
to participate. (Parade route in June Sun Rays).
People Parade
Immediately following the Pooch Parade, $1 per entry
(Entry is 1 golf cart or up to 10 walkers.)
Prepare yourselves for the parade of golf carts, marching groups,
bikers, families, neighborhood groups, clubs – all of Sun City!
Be a part of the parade, or bring your lawn chair and watch
the parade go by. We encourage you to come decked out in your
finest red, white and blue regalia. Purchase ticket(s) in advance
to participate. (Parade route in June Sun Rays).
Kids Egg Toss
11 a.m., Social Center Patio – near koi pond, FREE!
For those of you who bring your grandchildren to our wonderful
celebration, we want them to play, too! We will provide the egg;
you provide the kiddo and stand back as we have a high-flying,
fast-pitch game where the losers go home with ‘egg on their face.’
Be sure to pack an extra t-shirt ‘just in case.’ Grandparents are
encouraged to partner with their grandchildren.

Elwood P. Dowd is an affable man who
claims to have an unseen (and presumably
imaginary) friend Harvey—whom Elwood
describes as a six-foot, one-and-one-half-inch
tall pooka resembling an anthropomorphic
rabbit. Elwood introduces Harvey to everyone he meets. His
social-climbing sister, Veta, increasingly finds his eccentric
behavior embarrassing. She decides to have him committed
to a sanitarium to spare her and her daughter Myrtle Mae
from future embarrassment. “Harvey” has a cast of six men

“Inherit the Wind” Theatre Production
June 11-15, 7 p.m., SCB, $12 & 14 pp
Tickets are now on sale for “Inherit theWind”,
a fictionalized account of the 1925 Scopes
“Monkey Trial” which resulted in John T.
Scopes’s conviction for teaching Charles
Darwin’s theory of evolution to a high school
science class contrary to a Tennessee state law. The defense
featured the famous attorney Clarence Darrow and the pros-
ecution starred the celebrated orator, populist, and three-time
Democratic presidential candidateWilliamJennings Bryan. This
special Sun City production brings a big cast of characters to
the Ballroom stage for five enjoyable nights with cabaret seating
$14, June 11, 14-15; theatre seating $12, June 12-13. Reserved
seating means you don’t have to hurry for a good seat. “Inherit
the Wind” is directed by Sherry Adamo.
VAC Summer Show - NEW!

Arts Club will be held on Sunday, June 16
from 3-5 p.m. at the Activities Center Atrium,
located at # 1 Texas Drive, in Sun City. Light
