on the Orphan Train
, tells the story of the 250,000 orphans
and unwanted children who were put on trains in New York
between 1854 and 1929 and sent all over the United States to
be given away. An estimated 1,200 of these children came to
Texas. The presentation is comprised of music, an audio-visual
presentation of archival photographs and interviews with sur-
viving orphan train riders (one who came to Greenville, TX)
and is followed by a dramatic recitation from a forthcoming
historical novel about the Orphan Trains by Alison Moore.
Fifth Annual Sun City Garden Tour
Friday & Saturday, May 3-4, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., $10 pp
The 2013 Garden Tour is presented by the
Sun City Garden Club. The tour will include
six or seven designated Sun City yards in full
spring bloom. The featured yards are all dif-

and interesting design. Included on the tour are a few yards
with xeriscaping features and many others with natives and
low water use plants. Tour guides will be at each of the homes
to welcome and escort you through the yards. You can take the
tour on your own schedule between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. on either
Friday or Saturday, but you must first come to The Oaks at
Legacy Hills Golf Course for maps, directions and an armband,
which will provide admission to each of the yards. Garden Club
members will be serving complimentary refreshments at The
Oaks during the tour. Tickets can be purchased online or at
the Member Services Office and also at The Oaks on the days
of the tour. A portion of the proceeds from ticket sales will be

Biblical Art Museum outing and
enjoyed the quaint museum. Judy was amazed at all

seeing a dove sculpture from 500 A.D.
Activities with Jenny
We have some changes happening in
the Lifestyle Department. The CA has
partnered with a new extended travel
company, Globus. Globus will host a
social gathering with food and bever-
ages on Wednesday, May 8 at 10 a.m.
in the Atrium to show upcoming trips
planned for 2014; see details on page 100.
The second change is some of our outing trips will now
offer the opportunity for two (2) wheelchair bound pas-
sengers to board and ride the bus without leaving their
wheelchairs. Look for the wheelchair icon in the article.
In order for us to monitor and not exceed the wheelchair
capacity, all tickets for these mobility impaired trips
must be purchased at the Member Services Office. If
you need the wheelchair spot on the bus then you must
informMember Services when you purchase your ticket.
Remember that our Volunteer Trip Leader and Co-leader
are responsible for the entire group and cannot be the
companion for one person.
