Paula Poundstone, One World Theater - NEW!
Saturday, August 31, $80 pp
Depart SCPL 4 p.m.; Return 10:30 p.m.
Paula Poundstone continues to be one
of the foremost comics working today. Her abil-
ity to create humor on the spot is legendary;
she is masterful at improvising with the crowd
through her casual air, impeccable timing and
razor-sharp wit. She is a popular panelist on
NPR’s “Wait Wait . . . Don’t Tell Me!” She has published her
first book,
There’s Nothing In This Book That I Meant To
Say
and released her first comedy CD,
I Heart Jokes: Paula
Tells Them In Maine in 2009.
An Emmy Award winner, she
is also the first woman to receive the Cable ACE Award for
Best Standup Comedy Special.
As one critic stated: “Poundstone has a rare talent. A refresh-
ing anti-celebrity: warm, gracious, genuine. If you like intelli-
gent, philosophical comedy you’ll love Paula Poundstone.” One
World Theater in Austin is the perfect place to see Poundstone,
as you are up close and personal.
Prior to the concert we will stop at the Domain (also in Austin)
where you will be able to choose from the many restaurants
for dinner on your own.
Ticket cost includes transportation and theater admission.

on a buttery croissant or ham and cheese on fresh multi grain
bread. Lunch includes potato chips, pickle spear, fudge brownie
and bottled water.
Then we return to the Dome for
The Search for Life in the
Universe: Are We Alone?
This film begins to answer this and
other intriguing questions in a breathtaking show narrated
by actor Harrison Ford. Answers emerge as we consider newly
revealed facts on our travel through the solar system and into
a galaxy far, far, away.
Note: Jacket or sweater recommended for cool Dome
temperatures.
