Having participated in the recent suc-
cessful Emergency Management Com-
mittee drill, Pet Club members are
preparing “Pet Grab and Go Bags” for
their animals. As set forth in a guideline
revised August 10, 2012, suggested con-
tents are: ID tags and harness or collar,
veterinary records, pet medications, food
and/or treat and can opener, small wa-
ter and food dish, trash bags, flashlight
and kitty litter and container for cats.
Should the unthinkable happen - natu-
ral or man-made - temporary space will
be made available in Sun City for pets
and their owners. You will be asked to
register with your name, address, name
of your animal and any additional infor-
mation necessary. The owners will be
expected to stay with their pet or find
someone who will watch themwhile the
“humans” find medical attention, etc.
for themselves.
The Sun City Pet Club is an active group
of residents interested in the health and
well-being of animals. Regular meetings
are held and all are invited and encour-
aged to join. You may contact President
Tom Olsen at 512-639-2085 or suncity-
