IrrIgATION BASICS FOr THE
HOMEOWNEr
Speaker: Carol Parsonage
Having plants that thrive in our
drought-ridden area is a challenge for all
Sun City residents! At our May program
the focus is on water – practical steps to
use it wisely so our landscapes don’t get
too much or too little. Our speaker is a
Master Gardener, Irrigation Specialist
and Sun City Garden Club member.
Also, Master Gardeners will be avail-
able to answer gardening questions dur-
ing the social time before the program
begins. The meeting agenda will also
include “Plant of the Month” and “May
Gardening Tips” presentations.
We will have a sharing table at the May
meeting. If you have leftover plants,
garden tools or items you are willing
to give away, bring them along to find
a new home.
The Fifth Annual Sun City Garden
Tour
on Friday and Saturday, May 3
and 4, features seven Sun City yards and
the Sun City Organic Horticultural Gar-
dens in full spring bloom. Hope you can
attend! The $10 ticket is good for both
days. The tour can be taken any time
between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. See details
about the tour and ticket purchases in
the “Events” section on page 16.
May Gardeners of the Month:
Con-
gratulations to Paul and Ann Berry, 136
Chisholm Trail (N01)! A photo of this
“yard for all seasons” can be found in the
“Around Sun City” section on page 118.
