EMC Disaster Drill
The Emergency Management Committee held an Emer-
gency Exercise test drill in Sun City Texas on March 16.
The exercise simulated a tornado touchdown in the
northwestern part of Sun City Texas. The purpose was
to better prepare emergency volunteers to help resi-
dents in the event of an emergency or disaster in Sun
City Texas. COPs Emergency Response Team, the EMC
Response Team, SCARS and the Neighborhood Emer-
gency coordinators participated, as residents of several
neighborhoods served as evacuees. Representatives
from the Georgetown Police and Fire Departments, and
Williamson County EMS were also in attendance. Short-
term Resident and Pet Evacuation Centers and a First Aid
Station were activated using the Social Center Ballroom
and Lobby, and the Activities Center Atrium, Lobby, and
Game Rooms 1 and 2.
