another body, this time a woman. The police are skeptical and
soon dismiss her pleas. Her husband calls in a psychiatrist, Dr.
Lake, who agrees with John’s suggestion that Elaine should go
to a clinic in Switzerland for treatment. Our plot involves an
old friend, Blanche, the maid, Helga, a nosy neighbor, Appleby,

Sylvia
is more than a story about a man, his
dog, and his wife; it’s about the search for iden-
tity through relationships. Greg and Kate are
empty-nesters who’ve returned to Manhattan
after 22 years in suburbia. Greg’s career as a
securities trader is imploding as he ponders life’s meaning, while
Kate’s social life and teaching career is flourishing. Then, Greg
brings home a dog he met in the park bearing only the name
“Sylvia.” A street-smart Lab and Poodle mix (who thinks and
talks), Sylvia becomes a bone of contention between husband
and wife. Come see it—you’ll laugh, you’ll cry, and you’ll fall in
love with Sylvia. Directed by Ron Chalmers,
