Let’s Communicate!
Jim Romine, Executive Director
V
olunteers are critical to Sun City
Texas Community Association
(CA), assisting with recreational
activities, providing administrative sup-
port, and making our system of gover-
nance possible. Quite frankly, without
these All-Stars, the CA would not be able
to provide the level of service our residents
and guests have enjoyed for somany years.
For example, the volunteers who assist
Jenny Phillips and our Lifestyle Depart-
ment allow the CA to provide the wide
variety of activities currently available.
Neighborhood Representatives ensure that
the CA is able to communicate effectively
with all residents.
The Board of Directors and our many
Committees are also staffed by volunteers.
Resident Boardmembers devote countless
hours to attending a variety of meetings
and providing governance for our Associa-
tion. The Covenants Committee is criti-
cal to the enforcement of our community’s
rules and governing documents, and the
Modifications Committee helps homeown-
ers navigate the Design Guidelines and
complete modifications to their homes
within the rules. Our invaluable Finance
Committee monitors the fiscal affairs of
the CA, while the Nominating Committee
facilitates the filling of vacancies within
the other twelve committees. The Elections
Committee assists in our annual elections,
oversight of our CA property maintenance
is provided by the Property and Grounds
Committee; and Sun City’s numerous
recreation activities, clubs and facilities
are presided over by the volunteers of our
Sports and Chartered Clubs Non-Sports
Committees. The Sun City Golf Commit-
tee works with staff to provide a quality
golf experience at reasonable prices. The
Landscaped Maintained Homes Com-
mittee works to meet the needs of those
living in the homes within this program.
Working in conjunction with Firewise
and Citizens on Patrol, the Emergency
Management Committee (EMC) educates
our residents on emergency and disaster
preparedness. Our Wildlife Management
Committee helps us to understand and
manage the existing flora and fauna of
our beautiful property, and, last but not
least, the Communications Committee re-
views our community’s many channels of
communication to ensure that information
reaches our residents in a timely, efficient
manner.
Many residents volunteer their time and
energy to the CA, participating in vine
cutting, running News and Views, distrib-
uting directories, maintaining our busy
library (and busy they are!), and aiding
with a range of administrative needs.
I would be remiss not to mention our
Adopt-a-Hole All-Stars who help Gary
and his team keep our golf courses look-
ing their best.
There are many other All-Stars who con-
tribute to the success of our community,
and it is certainly not my intent to overlook
anyone or diminish the work of those not
menioned. I am attempting to merely il-
lustrate the impact these All-Stars have in
Sun City Texas by sharing a few examples.
As these All-Stars are vital to the suc-
cess of our community, the CA continually
strives to recognize and thank all of them.
The Community Association hosts several
events each year to honor these All-Stars,
with entertainment and a good time for all.
If you have not guessed already, our theme
this year is “All-Stars”, which certainly
describes our volunteers.
Residents, either individually or collec-
tively, are making positive contributions to
our community every day. These residents
give unselfishly of their time and energy
without seeking recognition or personal
gain. If you know a volunteer in Sun City
Texas, take a moment to thank them for
their efforts. I sincerely appreciate all
residents who help make Sun City Texas
the best community it can be. Thank You!
