PURPLE HEART DESIGNATION CEREMONY
On Thursday, September 11, the Military Order of the Purple Heart, Chapter 1919,
along with the City of Georgetown, held a ceremony to mark the one-year anni-
versary of Georgetown’s designation as the first Purple Heart City in Texas. The
ceremony was held at the Williamson County Veterans Memorial Plaza.
The guest speaker, Sergeant Chris Jaramillo, was wounded in an IED attack while sta-
tioned in Afghanistan.
