Sunday:
After hotel breakfast and packing suitcases, we head to
the Ice Sculpture show. Professional ice carvers have transformed
900 tons of ice into twenty large ice sculptures. These sculptures
are kept at 15 degrees, so be sure to bring a warm coat.
Note: All hotel accommodations have king size beds, and
this cannot be changed.
This is an active trip with multiple stops and a lot of
walking.
Ticket cost includes transportation, 2 hotel nights, 2 breakfasts,
1 dinner, hand bell concert, Dickens on the Strand, Festival of
Lights, optional activity at Moody Gardens, and Ice Sculpture
show.

Christmas Parade and Holiday Market –
Fredericksburg - NEW!
Dinner on Your Own
Friday, December 5, $22 pp
Depart SCPL 2 p.m.; Return 11 p.m.
Christmas, a favorite time of year,
begins in Fredericksburg with the St. Nikolaus
Marketplatz and Christmas Parade. TheMar-
ketplatz will be turned into a fun-filled festival
highlighting the German heritage with crafts, treats, music and
much more. The town will be dressed in all of its holiday finery
including a 26 foot traditional GermanChristmas pyramid and a
30 foot Christmas tree. Main Street stores will feature all kinds
of clothing, jewelry, eats and sweets.
Just after sunset the Christmas parade with 100 lighted entries
begins. The parade travels fromMarket Square downMainStreet
and back again for easy viewing of the floats, marching bands
and of course, Santa Claus. We will be standing for the parade
which lasts about an hour so bring a chair if you need one. On
our way home, we will make a stop to see the light displays in
Johnson City. Since this event is outdoors, please wear warm
clothes and good walking shoes.

Most everyone knows the story of Dickens’
AChristmas Carol
with its famous characters
– Scrooge, the ghosts, and Tiny Tim, but you
probably don’t know the story from Scrooge’s
point of view. The Story of Scrooge tells us his
tale in a most unique and engaging way. Local actor, composer,
musician andworship leader, Paul Q-Pek brings his own twist to
this Dickens’ classic in his one-man show. He wrote and performs
all the original material himself. He plays all the parts in this
one-of-a kindmusical journey through the world of the Christmas
villain turned hero Ebenezer Scrooge, heartwarming Tiny Tim
and subtle hero BobCratchit and the haunting Christmas ghosts.
Our musical evening begins at Applebee’s for dinner on your
own where you will order from the menu. From there it will be
a short drive to the theater, a small, intimate venue.
Ticket price includes transportation and theater ticket.

, the story of a lion
cub’s journey to adulthood and acceptance of his
royal destiny. The mythic tale borrows elements from
Hamlet
,
classical mythology, and African folk tales, with a combination
of spectacular visuals and lively hit songs such as “Can You Feel
the Love Tonight?” and “The Circle of Life.”
Following the matinee performance, dinner is on your own at
The River Center Mall. From quick-bites at the food court to
riverside dining, you will find it’s like the song says – “Hakuna
Matata” – no worries for the rest of your day, it’s all good!
Note: We will stop at Buc-ee’s on the way to San Antonio before
the show.

Christmas Lights – Belton - NEW!

Thursday, December 11, $30 pp
Depart SCPL 4:45 p.m.; Return 9:30 p.m.
It’s going to be a spectacular night
in Belton as we visit the 17th annual Nature
in Lights show of Christmas displays. It takes
over 4 months of work to put together over a
hundred holiday-inspired and patriotic light
displays spanning a 5.5 mile drive along the Belton Lake shore
areas. Some displays are as high as 40 feet. Others are small,
using only one strand, but it’s all topped off by the grand finale,
a drive-through tunnel 500 feet long! This is a must-see event!
Our evening begins in Schoepf’s private room with a buffet of
