Nonprofit & Volunteer Fair
Friday, October 10, SCB, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Submitted by Jaime Calder, Production/Communications Editor
When you hear the word “volunteer,” you probably think of
giving – giving of one’s time and energy, giving a hand to those
in need, giving of resources to improve the world around you.
But did you know that volunteers
gain
from their experiences
as well? From learning new skills to meeting new people,
uncovering unexpected talents to just shaking up your daily
routine, there are as many ways to better yourself through
volunteering as there are opportunities to better the world
in which you live.
On October 10, Sun City Texas will host its eighth Nonprofit
& Volunteer Fair, with over 40 local organizations eager to
tell you how they’re making Central Texas a better place to
live and thrive. Whether you’re new to civic engagement, an
inveterate volunteer or you just want to learnmore about an
issue near to your heart, stop on by and discover how much
you can gain when you give.
