Bob Bullock Texas History Museum – NEW!
Sunday, September 8, $27 pp
Depart SCPL 11:45 a.m.; Return 6 p.m.
You’ve heard about the heroes, the
battles and the legendary Texas pride. Now
experience The Story of Texas from first
encounters between Native Americans and
European explorers to new frontiers of the
20th century. Our tour begins with The Star of Destiny, a
film that takes us on an epic journey through the history
of Texas, narrated by the character of Sam Houston. Spe-
cial sound effects, lightning, wind and smoke contribute to
making this the perfect start to our museum experience.
The journey continues as we tour three floors of interactive ex-
hibits, where conquistadors, cowboys, buffalo soldiers, oil barons
and suffragettes have gathered to tell us their stories. Stories
as big as the Lone Star State of land, identity and opportunity.
Our tour concludes with
Texas – The Big Picture
at the IMAX
Theater. From the Panhandle to the Rio Grande, the Texas
landscape is as diverse as the folks that live here and this
larger than life movie will put you into that legendary Texas
state-of-mind. The café and gift shop will be open for light
snacks, sandwiches, salads, drinks and a wonderful array of
Texas gift items.
Ticket cost includes transportation, museum and movie tickets.

Judy Collins at One World Theatre - NEW!
Sunday, September 8, $90 pp
Depart SCPL 4:30 p.m.; Return 9 p.m.
We are off to One World Theatre
for a delightful evening of music with legend
Judy Collins. Few singers have the staying
power of Judy, who has thrilled audiences
worldwide with her unique blend of inter-
pretative folksongs and contemporary themes for over fifty
years. Her dulcet tones have graced our ears, and her poetic
lyrics have galvanized a generation. She has released more
than forty albums, has had numerous Top 10 hits, Grammy
nominations and gold and platinum selling albums.
Collins’ pure, sweet soprano and acoustic guitar playing have
recorded the most memorable renditions of classic hits “Send
in the Clowns” and “Both Sides Now.” Her two latest creative
projects include the album Paradise, a collection of ten songs
that includes duets of Judy with the legendary Stephen Stills
and Joan Baez, and Over the Rainbow, a magnificent oversized
children’s picture book and 3-song CD set.
Note: The concert starts at 6 p.m. No meal is offered
with this trip. It is recommended you eat before the
bus departs and bring a snack. Drinks are available
in the downstairs bar. Restroom facilities are limited
on the theatre level. Walking up and down stairs may
be necessary.
