Stephen Blake. Stephen’s most re-
cent trip was the Bat Cruise down
in Austin.
Activities with Jenny
Red, white and blue will adorn 2 Texas
Drive on July 3rd for our Independence
Day celebration. We will sing “Happy
Birthday” to Uncle Sam at 8:30 a.m. at
the Veterans Memorial Plaza. If you are
not in the pooch or people parade, come
and cheer on your neighbors and watch
the parade. Be sure to bring your lawn chair and drink
plenty of water. The Pooch Parade starts at 9 a.m.; immedi-
ately following the Pooch Parade will be our People Parade
led by Parade Marshals, the Sun City Texas Georgettes.
The Sun City Singers will be singing patriotic tunes in
the ballroom at 11 a.m.; tickets are $6 each.

Every time you travel on an outing planned by the Lifestyle De-
partment, you will receive a card to fill out and turn in at the Moni-
tor’s desk. We will draw a card monthly and the lucky winner will
receive 50% o one future day-bus trip! We will notify the winner
via phone and email.

Birthday Party for Uncle Sam
8:30 a.m., Veterans Memorial Plaza, Free
Start your celebrating at the Veterans Memorial Plaza, complete
with a sing-along and birthday cake. Bring your lawn chair and
join the fun!
Pooch Parade
9 a.m., Line up on Texas Drive near Tennis Courts, $1
per entry (Entry is 1 pooch.)

Come see these adorable pets
strut their stuff for the honor of being “Most Patriotic Pooch.”
The competition is tough, and walking the pets through a throng
of clapping attendees is sometimes tougher. You’ll enjoy seeing
all these adorable pooches in their patriotic finery. Purchase $1
ticket in advance for your pooch to participate.
People Parade
Immediately following the Pooch Parade, $1 per entry
(Entry is 1 golf cart or up to 10 walkers.)

Prepare
yourselves for the parade of golf carts, march-
ing groups, bikers, families, neighborhood
groups, clubs – all of Sun City! Be a part of
the parade, or bring your lawn chair and watch
the parade go by. We encourage you to come decked out in your
finest red, white and blue regalia. Purchase ticket(s) in advance
to participate.

July 3 Parade Route
Our parade route will encompass both directions of Texas
Drive as well as the circle drive of the Social Center.
Due to the heat, the pooch parade won’t be as long as the
people parade; they will start near the Tennis courts and
walk to the circle drive for judging and back.
To participate in the parade, you must pre-purchase a $1
ticket at theMember Services O
ce or online. If participating
in the Pooch Parade, please arrive no later than 8:45 a.m.;
the Pooch Parade starts at 9 a.m.
Line up for Pooch Parade
is on the sidewalk near the tennis court along Texas Drive.
Make sure all animals are on a leash!
If participating in the People Parade, check in no later than
8:30 a.m. near the tennis courts;
the people parade will fol-
low the pooch parade at approximately 9:30 a.m.
Prior to
the event, share the parade route with all entry members; to
reduce confusion, please arrive at check in with your entire
group. Feel free to throw candy; do not bring treats that
are not wrapped.
