PROGRAM: WATER
CONSERVATION IN SUN CITY
Please note that the July meeting
is at The Oaks.
Enjoy an ice cream treat to celebrate
another hot summer with the Garden
Club! Our July program will be a panel
discussion on water conservation with:
Catrin Dubois, Sun City Landscape
Superintendent; Carlton Mathis, Sun
City Water Manager; Gabriel Domin-
quez, City of Georgetown Water Con-
servation Projects Manager; and some
of our member Master Gardeners who
have specialized expertise on low wa-
ter use plants and irrigation systems.
Bring your questions! We will have some
hands-on opportunities to learn about
irrigation controllers and lots of tips to
conserve water while still having a yard
that thrives.
The meeting agenda will also include
“Plant of the Month” and “July Garden-
ing Tips” presentations. And, during the
social part of the meeting, our Master
Gardeners will be available to answer
your gardening questions.
If you have leftover plants, garden tools
or items you are willing to give away,
bring them to the July meeting for the
“Sharing Table.”

Since we’re experiencing another Tex-
as summer, we have begun throwing
horseshoes at 9 a.m. on Tuesday and
Thursday mornings. We welcome Sun
City Texas residents and their guests to
join us. Some residents have told me that
they haven’t thrown horseshoes since
playing at church picnics or family re-
unions, and haven’t played for years. We
are a friendly group and some of us are
still pleased when we finally get a ringer!
We welcome guys and gals to join us on
Tuesday and Thursday mornings at the
courts, near bocce and shuffleboard.
