The Sun City Aviation Club is a char-
tered club organized by two Sun City
residents who were interested in getting
together with other aviation enthusiasts.
Initially, they met in the coffee shop of
the Legacy Hills Restaurant, now The
Oaks. They merely gathered on Satur-
day morning and had coffee and donuts.
After a while, it was apparent there was
significant interest in this idea because
it became an extremely popular event.
John Olson and JimWildharber applied
for a charter for the club, and eventually
they were awarded a charter with an
official place to meet. Soon they elected
officers and the good idea turned into a
reality.
Members still meet on the second Sat-
urday of each month at 8:30 a.m. for a
social time of coffee and donut holes in
the Atrium of the Activities Center. An
interesting program is presented along
with time for questions and answers and
additional discussions concerning the
content of the programs.
