The following special events are taking place in July and early August.
ROTARY’S SUMMERFEST
The Sun City Texas Rotary Club pres-
ents Summerfest on Sunday, July 7, from
6-9 p.m. in the Social Center Ballroom.
The event will feature a live and silent
auction, music, food, fun and fellowship!
Tickets are $15, which includes five
auction tickets. Proceeds benefit The
Locker, The Nest, and BIG (Brookwood
in Georgetown). This event is open to

PALACE THEATRE
Georgetown Palace Theatre presents
The
Will Rogers Follies
. Claiming to have
never met a man he didn’t like, Rog-
ers was America’s first international
multimedia sensation, whose wit and
homespun wisdom went straight to the
nation’s heart. Will Rogers narrates his
life story through a series of spectacu-
lar Ziegfeld Follies production numbers
which come to life with Ziegfeld Girls,
Ziegfeld’s Favorite, wranglers, and a
roper. Showtimes are Fridays and Sat-
urdays, July 5 through August 4, at 7:30
p.m., and Sundays at 2 p.m. Tickets are
$24 for general admission; $22 for seniors
55 and older; and $10 for children.
KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS BINGO
Bingo in the Ballroom will be on Sun-
day, July 14 and 28 in the Social Cen-
ter Ballroom. Doors open at 5 p.m., and
games start at 6 p.m. Cash prizes will
be awarded. All proceeds are used to
support various charitable activities.

HUMANE HEROES BOWL-A-THON
Come out to Mel’s Lonestar Lanes in
Georgetown for the 5th annual Bowl-A-
Thon fundraiser for Texas Humane He-
roes. The fundraiser will be from 1-4 p.m.
on Saturday, July 13 at 1010 N. Austin
Ave. Register in advance for $25 indi-
vidual or as a team of 4 for $95. Regis-
tration includes three games of bowling,
shoe rental, door prizes and much more
for a great cause. A large silent auction
and a raffle for a new Kindle Fire HD
will also be hosted at the event. Proceeds
go toward Texas Humane Heroes and
the goal to end pet homelessness. For

MOVIES IN THE PARK
Georgetown Parks & Recreation have
begun their annual summer series of
movies in San Gabriel Park. Come to the
park on Thursday, July 18 for a show-
ing of
Madagascar 3
. Also mark your
calendar for August 15 for a showing of
Oz The Great & Powerful
! Each movie is
held in the Gazebo area of San Gabriel
Park and begins at sunset, approximate-

CHAMBER BAR-BID-CUE
The Georgetown Chamber of Commerce
will host its 32nd annual Bar-Bid-Cue
dinner and auction at 5:30 p.m. on Fri-
day, July 26 in the Ballroom. The event
includes a live and silent auction, bar-
becue by Duke’s Smokehouse, and live
music. Tickets are $30 per person. For

WILLIAMSON MUSEUM
The Williamson Museum announces the
opening of “WWII Comes to William-
son County.” Scheduled to run through
March 2015, the exhibit explores how
the Second World War impacted Wil-
liamson County, from the enlistment of
countless young men to the efforts of all
on the home front. Individual stories of
strength and sacrifice will guide visi-
tors through the experiences of service-
men fromWilliamson County, past and
present. The exhibit includes filmed oral
histories of local veterans, as well as
photos and artifacts, with hands-on ac-
tivities for younger visitors. The museum
is actively seeking WWII vets and their
stories. Memorial plaques in the exhibit

MUSIC ON THE SQUARE
Enjoy live music every Friday night
through August 30 on the Georgetown
Square. The summer-long event is free,
and is from 6:30-8:30 p.m. every Fri-
