‘War Horse’ – Bass Concert Hall;
Dinner at Zed’s – NEW!
Thursday May 8, $119 pp
Depart SCPL 4:30 p.m.; Return 11:30 p.m.
Broadway Across America presents
WarHorse, the 2011 Tony-awardwinning story
of Albert and his horse, Joey, at the beginning
of WorldWar I. After Joey is sold to the cavalry
and shipped from England to France, Albert
embarks on a treacherous mission to find Joey and bring him
home – a remarkable tale of courage, loyalty and friendship
between a young boy and his beloved horse.
War Horse is amagnificent drama, filledwith stirringmusic and
beautiful songs. More than just a compelling tale, this is also a
show of indescribable grandeur and sheer inventiveness. There
are breathing, galloping, charging horses on the stage—their
flanks, hides and sinews built of steel, leather and aircraft cables.
They are life-size puppets strong enough for men to ride. And
that is just one element of this imaginative epic.
Before the show, our evening will begin with dinner at Zed’s
wherewewill start with Zed’s house salad. Entrée choices: grilled
salmon or parmesan cream chicken. These will be served with
smashed potatoes and seasonal vegetables. For dessert we will
have a scrumptious petite cheesecake.
Ticket cost includes transportation, dinner, and play.
