Follies 2014: A Night at the Oscars
March 3-8, 7 p.m., SCB
And the Oscar goes to…Sun City Texas! The
Academy Awards is the inspiration for the 2014
edition of AcTAG’s Follies. Capturing the glitz,
glamour and excitement of Hollywood’s biggest
night, AcTAGwill roll out the red carpet with
song, dance, comedy and drama fromyour favorite Oscarmovies.
Don’t miss this “Two Thumbs Up” performance. Be there to
see the Sun City Texas celebs give their award-winning per-
formances.
Opening night isMonday, March 3, and will run nightly through
Saturday, March 8. Tickets go on sale January 2 and will be
available online, at theMember Services Office, or at the door, if
available. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and the show begins at 7 p.m.
ANight at the Oscars is under the direction of Rosemary Byers.
Meet the Artist
Sunday, March 9, 2-5 p.m., AC
The Visual Arts Club will present its annual
“Meet The Artist” showand reception on Sun-
day, March 9 from 2-5 p.m. in the Activities
Center. The show is free and open to the pub-
lic. This exhibition showcases beautiful and
original pieces of artwork in a variety of mediums including oil,
acrylic, watercolor and collage. Chinese brush painting will be
shown along with pastels and charcoal drawings. Artwork will
be for sale and may be purchased during the opening reception.
The show features live demonstrations by club members. Enjoy
light refreshments while you view the art and “meet” the artists.

I am excited to share with you that
our current bus outings for 2014 al-
ready number 115! Needless to say,
here in Sun City Texas there is a lot
of motor coach activity transporting
many people to various destinations.
Your volunteer trip leaders and I are always concerned
about “Safety First.” Here are some tips for everyone to
remember:
• Please remain seated at all times while the motor
coach is in motion. Failure to do so may result in seri-
ous injury. If you use the washroom while the motor
coach is in motion, you do so at your own risk.
• Aisles must be kept clear of all personal effects at all
times, especially while the bus is in motion.
• Please take note of all emergency exits.
• Please be aware of the stairs and use hand rails when
entering or exiting the motor coach.
• Always check for traffic when exiting and walking
away from the coach.
Prior to departure, your volunteer trip leader will give you
specific details concerning safety procedures, including
our request for an emergency contact phone number. As a
reminder, in the event of an emergency, 911will always be
our first call. We then will call the number you provide to
inform your contact person of your emergency situation.
Thank you for helping us keep our bus outings safe and
enjoyable for all!
