The November programwill be all about
Texas wildflowers and how to identify
them, especially the ones right here in
Georgetown andWilliamson County. Na-
tive Texan and Master Gardener Wayne
Rhoden will be our speaker. If you love
Texas wildflowers (and who doesn’t?), you
won’t want to miss this program!
The meeting will also include “Plant of
the Month” and “November Gardening
Tips” presentations. During the social
time of the meeting, Master Gardeners
will be available to answer your garden-
ing questions
If you have plants, wildflower seeds,
garden tools or items you would like to
give away, bring them to the November
meeting for the “Sharing Table.” House-
plants are also welcome.
2014 Dues and Membership
The Garden Club is the place where
you can learn how to have a beautiful
Sun City yard, using the right plants in
the right place! The knowledge gained
by using drought-tolerant plants will
help maintain home equity and save
money in the long run. If you have a
yard, then you should join the Garden
Club―you don’t have to consider yourself
a gardener!
If you are not yet a member, you may
attend as a guest for the remainder
of 2013. New and renewing members
may join online or bring a check for $12
(made out to SCTXCA) to pay 2014 dues
at the November meeting.

Tuesdays and Thursdays 9 a.m.,
horseshoe Courts
Contact: Bob Blattner, President, 512-
869-8226 or
All residents and their guests are wel-
come to join us for Horseshoes on Tues-
day and Thursday mornings at 9 a.m.
Recently, our club voted to sponsor the
Shuffleboard Special Interest Group
(SIG); we are honored to be associated
with this group.
Shuffleboard SIG
Sun City Texas has an active Shuffle-
board group; approximately 20 indi-
viduals belong to the Shuffleboard SIG
and 20 other residents also play at the
two courts (adjacent to Bocce Courts,
and next to Horseshoes and Washers).
The courts are open every day to resi-
dents. Although there is no league play,
members of the SIG and other residents
gather at the courts at 9 a.m. every Tues-
day and Thursday to play for one hour.
Shuffleboard is fun for individuals of
all ages and all physical abilities. It is
easy to learn and easy to play―an ideal
outdoor activity to enjoy with friends and
neighbors. Newcomers are welcome to
join us any time. If you have not played
in the past and would like to be intro-
duced to the game at a time other than
9 a.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays, email
Tom Rice at
