Mammoth Site - NEW!
Wednesday, April 24, $68 pp
Depart SCPL 9 a.m.; Return 6:30 p.m.
Join us for a trip to Glen Rose with
the opportunity to view, learn about, and inter-
act with some of the world’s most endangered
animals. Visit a 2700 acrewildlife conservation
facility, home tomore than 1000 exotic animals.
Along the ten mile scenic Wildlife Drive are cheetahs, giraffes,
Grevy’s, zebras, kudu, addax and white rhinoceroses plus over
sixty other species.
Before the tour, we will sit at the overlook for our catered lunch.
Sandwich choice (at time of ticket purchase): roast beef with
horseradish cheddar on whole wheat multigrain bread OR ro-
tisserie chicken salad on a croissant. Chips, cookie and bottled
water are included.
After lunch, we will get into open-air tour vehicles with our ex-
tremely knowledgeable guides. Be prepared to experience ostriches
and giraffes, among others, coming close enough to look you in
the eye! We’ll be so close that we’ll be able to feed them.
Then we’re off toWaco to see the Mammoth Site. These animals
are not nearly as lively as the ones in Glen Rose because they’ve
been extinct for thousands of years! The site includes a breathtak-
ing dig shelter that creates an art gallery-like atmosphere. Natural
light floods in from all directions, and a suspended walkway
provides a stunning overhead view of the mammoths.
Note: Be prepared for the weather of the day. Bring hats
and sunscreen if necessary. Don’t forget your camera!
Ticket cost includes transportation, lunch, admissions and guides,
and food for the animals.
