The luxurious Moody
Gardens Hotel will be home for our three-night
stay. The hotel offers amenities of a four-star
hotel, including mini fridge, complimentary
wifi, free daily newspaper, plush bathrobes and
indoor pool. You will have a voucher for their huge breakfast
buffet each morning.
Wednesday - Upon arrival in Galveston, lunch will be on
your own at Pier 21, with menus and suggestions on the four
restaurants provided. Next will be a guided tour of the Texas
Seaport Museum and Elissa sailing ship. After checking into
the Moody Gardens Hotel, enjoy dinner on your own at one of
their restaurants.
Thursday and Friday - Unlimited access to the Moody Gardens
attractions. Visit the Aquarium where four oceans of the world
contain such ocean seafarers as penguins and sharks. The
Rainforest boasts a canopy walk for viewing butterflies, tropical
birds, orchids, turtles and much more. See the IMAX movies or
take a ride on the paddle-wheel boat.
Thursday - Our Thanksgiving Buffet will be at 1 p.m. giving
you time to roam the gardens and have a leisurely breakfast.

The main dining room will feature ice sculptures and live music
along with turkey, ham, prime rib, fish and pasta. Add appetizers,
salads, veggies, desserts, coffee and tea for a sumptuous meal.
Thursday night welcomes the holiday season with the Festival
of Lights display. B, L
Friday - We begin with a tour of the 1894 Opera House followed
by the movie The Great Storm, which documents the disaster of
1900. Lunch will be on your own at one of the restaurants along
the ocean front. In the afternoon, we tour Bishop’s Palace, the
Galveston Beauty. That evening we travel to the Pleasure Pier
for dinner on your own at places such as Bubba Gump’s. B
Saturday - Enjoy a sightseeing tour of Galveston before strolling
The Strand for shopping and lunch on your own. We will leave
in the early afternoon, stopping for a break before arriving home
about 7 p.m. B
Ticket cost includes transportation, hotel accommodations, three
breakfasts, Thanksgiving Buffet and admission to all sights.

Our destination
again this year will be the beautiful 4 star
Hilton Palacio del Rio, one of Sun Citians’
favorite places. After checking in, enjoy a little
free time before our Thanksgiving feast. This
memorable buffet is absolutely outstanding in both selection and
quality. What a delightful way to celebrate the holiday with
other people from our community! Come with friends or make
new ones!
After our meal, you will have some time for yourself before
boarding our private riverboats for an evening cruise. By the
