Travel to this famed facility to see a performance of the First
Cavalry Division Horse Detachment, tour the horse barns and
speak with soldiers in that unit, eat a cafeteria-style lunch at
the base dining facility, fire weapons simulators, visit the First
Cavalry DivisionMuseum, and seemany other interesting parts
of the base. When we arrive, two soldiers will board the bus and
serve as our tour guides.
Notes: All activities are subject to change! No part of the
itinerary is guaranteed, as the base is dedicated to its
operations and imperatives, but hopefully our trip will
go as planned. No weapons permitted on base. Bring
your photo ID (driver’s license).
Additional notes:
This tour requires getting on and off the
bus several times and walking on uneven ground. Cameras and
cell phones are permitted. Bring your own snacks and beverages
due to limited availability on the tour. A long-standing Sun City
tradition is to bring cookies for the soldiers, which are always
welcome! Please put them in Ziploc bags or disposable containers.
Ticket cost includes transportation, tour, and lunch.

to Branson – an exciting five day trip! Enjoy
Branson’s world famous shows, attractions and
shopping, and take in the springtime beauty of
the Ozarks, vibrant with dogwoods, redbuds and wild flowers in
bloom.
Monday:
Travel day: morning rest stop – Slovaneck’s (West);
lunch (on your own)– Cracker Barrel (Sherman); afternoon rest
stop – Braum’s Ice Cream (on your own) (Eufaula, OK) dinner
(on your own) – Olive Garden (Fayetteville, AR); arrive at Hilton
Promenade (Branson,MO), approx. 10 p.m. ThisHilton is situated
within the Branson Landing, a waterfront shopping, dining and
entertainment district.
Tuesday:
Hotel breakfast included. Enjoymorning on your own
withmid-morning bus departure. We will travel to the Branson
Belle Showboat for a two hour luncheon cruise of Table Rock
Lake. Afterwards, it’s back to the hotel for an afternoon at the
nearby shopping mall. Dinner on your own at Grand Country
Buffet followed by

This morning we will tour College of the Ozarks
including theWilliamsMemorial Chapel, greenhouses, mill, and

Come see the roses, tour homes and gardens,
visit the RoseMuseumwith theQueen’s gowns,
and tour the Pearce Museum in Corsicana.
Tuesday:
We will make a morning stop on the way to Tyler
followed by lunch at Traditions, upscale cafeteria-style dining
(included). Following lunch we will tour the palatial Goodman-
LeGrand House and Museum set on a nine acre tract among
trees, flowers, and natural rock. After a tour of the home, enjoy
roaming the gardens if you wish. After check-in at the Holiday
Inn Express, enjoy a complimentary wine and cheese reception.
Dinner will be on your own at one of the nearby restaurants or
the hotel restaurant.
Note: All hotel rooms have two double beds. No other
options available.
Wednesday:
Visit the Rose Museum and Rose Garden with
over 3,000 rose bushes set among the numerous pathways. The
Potpourri, Tyler’s unique dining and shopping experience, will
serve us lunch (included). Lunch options when your purchase
ticket: chicken salad/fruit/muffin ORmarinated chicken breast/
veggie/roll; turtle fudge cheesecake for dessert. After lunch our
docent will guide our bus through the Garden District where we
will be able to get out and visit some of the gardens on the 90
minute tour. Dinner will again be on your own.
Thursday:
As we say goodbye to Tyler, it’s on to Corsicana to
visit the Pearce Civil War and Western Art Museum. You are
on your own for lunch, but save room for dessert for a stop at the
Russell Stover Candies Outlet Store. Then we are homeward
bound with one rest stop.
Ticket cost includes transportation, 2 hotel nightswith full service
breakfasts, all venue and tour admissions, and 2 lunches.
