Crimes of the Heart
Fredericksburg Theater - NEW!
Lunch on Your Own
Sunday, April 12, $50 pp
Depart SCPL 9:30 a.m.; Return 7 p.m.
Known for “Off Broadway
Experience in the Charm of the Hill Country,”
Fredericksburg Theater Company presents
Crimes of the Heart
, a story about the ties that
bind and the ties that lead to crimes of passion.
The story begins in a small Mississippi town where the three
Magrath sisters have gathered to await news of their dying
grandfather. Lenny, the oldest, is unmarried and has no prospects
on the horizon.Meg, themiddle sister, is back after a failed singing
career, and Babe, the youngest, is out on bail after shooting her
husband. Their troubles, grave and yet somehow hilarious, are
highlighted by their priggish cousin Chick and by the young
lawyer who is trying to keep Babe out of jail while helplessly
falling in love with her. Winner of the 1981 Pulitzer Prize, the
big-hearted, zany, imaginative production will linger in your
mind long after the curtain comes down.
Before the matinee, there will be time for lunch on your own
and shopping in downtown Fredericksburg. Following the show
we will make a stop at Wild Seed Farms for drinks and treats.
Ticket cost includes transportation and matinee.
