above and below the halo of the Milky Way. Galactic clusters
are stars that group together and orbit only in the plane of the
Milky Way disk.
Yale’s Society of Orpheus and Bacchus
A Cappella Music Performance

This Ivy League group harmonizes jazz,
rock, and a cappella barbershop and they
will perform two thirty-minute sets with a 15
minute intermission in between. They have
serenaded the sunset on the shores of Aruba
and the President’s Chief of Staff at the White House. Their
tight-knit harmonies and unique sense of humor, combined
with 76 years of experience, make a delightful performance for
all to enjoy.

Spring Plant Sale - NEW!

141 Sun City Blvd.
The Horticulture Club will hold their Spring
Plant Sale on Saturday, March 21 from9 a.m.
to 1 p.m. at the SunCityGardens, 141 SunCity
Blvd. Shrubs and bedding plants, perennials
and annuals, vegetables and herbs will be for
sale. There will be drought-tolerant and deer-
resistant varieties available, with a focus on Texas native and
adapted plants. Come early for the best selection. Back To Nature
Cotton Burr Compost, hardwood mulch, and the club’s own
brewed compost tea will also be for sale.

Junior Camp Drawing

If you plan to enter the drawing for your
grandchild to attend Junior Camp, mark this
date on your calendar. Though you are not
required to be present for your grandchild to
“win,” this event will determine this year’s
camp participants and wait lists for both
sessions. The drawing box is available at the Monitor’s Desk
through Thursday, February 26. There are also informational

The Visual Arts Club presents its annual
“Meet the Artist” Art Show and Reception
Sunday, March 1 from 2 to 5 p.m. at the
Activities Center. This event showcases
original, affordable artwork in a variety of
mediums. You will find oils, watercolors, acrylics, Chinese
brush, pastels and more! Come and enjoy light refreshments
and demonstrations while you meet the artists and view the
show, which runs through Friday, April 17.

interest in singing at the age of 10, listening
to his fatherMark, a radio announcer onOldies
101.3 KUUL-FM in Davenport, Iowa. Matt
Barber sings easy listening songs from the
1940s -1990s. He travels around the world performing songs
reminiscent of Glenn Miller and Tommy Dorsey.

tend to be gregarious. Although there are a
few free-floating stars that don’t even belong to
a galaxy, most stars do orbit a galaxy center.
