Newly retired or a new resident to Sun
City? Looking for a fun hobby that you
never had time to pursue? We build them
and we run them: airplanes, sailboats,
helicopters, quads, powerboats, cars and
off-roaders. Come and learn how to do it
with a group just like you. Lots of mem-
bers, men and women, new to the hobby
along with some seasoned hobbyists who
will show you how. We’re just over two
years old and we’ve grown to over 140
members. We even have a computer-
controlled flight simulator if you don’t
want to do the “live stuff.” We “fly it” at
the weekly meetings. We also fly rotor
craft, small airplanes and run cars/off-
road vehicles in the ballroom one Sunday
a month and do other fun stuff at Berry
Creek Pond and our off-site flying place
for the gas and large airplanes.
September Schedule
Sunday, September 7, SCB:
10:30 a.m. Fixed Wing Aircraft
12:30 p.m. Rotor Craft
2:30 p.m. Cars/Trucks
Sunday, September 28:
Boating at Berry Creek Pond
Tuesdays and Saturdays:
10 a.m. Sailing, Berry Creek Pond
We fly small electric airplanes on the golf
course driving ranges on Mondays when
a course is closed for play. We also fly ev-
ery evening at the Cowan Creek driving
range 30 minutes after the Golf Shop is
closed. We need light wind conditions to
fly, so our flying usually takes place in
the early mornings or evenings. If you
see us out flying, stop by and say hello.

Our next meeting will be Tuesday, Sep-
tember 16 at 5 p.m. in the Cowan Creek
Florence Room. We will have a social
hour followed by a short business meet-
ing. Members are asked to bring an ap-
petizer large enough to share and your
own beverages.
Another RV trip is scheduled for Septem-
ber 30 – October 11 to the International
Hot Air Balloon Fiesta in Albuquerque,
New Mexico. Details and contact infor-
mation are available on the website.
Members are encouraged to sign up for
trips as soon as possible.
The RV club brings together those resi-
dents of our active lifestyle community
who also enjoy the RV lifestyle. The re-
sult is a great combination for friend-
ships, travel and adventure. We currently
number nearly 100 rigs of virtually every
style and configuration. Our members
organize group RV trips to a wide variety
of destinations throughout the year; they
are listed on our website. We meet once
a month except June, July and August
when many of our members are away
traveling. Interested residents can find
membership and other information on the
club website or by contacting Art Schmitt.
