The Poker Club held a Texas Hold’em
No Limit tournament on July 8 with 25
members participating in the event.

September Yard of the Month
Byron Barber and Cathy Corbell

A profusion of roses and blue mistflowers welcome as you approach the front
door of the home of Byron Barber and Cathy Corbell. The first impression is
that of a beautifully landscaped cottage. Across the yard, stately trees provide
large dollops of shade upon a wide variety of lush undulating greenery including
larkspur, meadow sage, marjoram, pineapple guava and iris. Purely picturesque
most of the time, two well-crafted, cobbled dry streambeds spring into action
when toad-strangler storms pour forth Texas sized rainfalls. Cathy and Byron’s
trees and flower gardens are appreciated by a variety of birds while their peach
tree receives special mention from a neighborhood raccoon with gourmet taste.
When you are out and about, consider driving past Cathy and Byron’s home to
see their beautiful yard.
