It’s a good time to talk about trees!
Predictions of El Niño bringingmore rain
to our area this fall mean that homeown-
ers can plant trees and large shrubs safe-
ly without having to use large amounts
of water to keep them alive.
Emily Driscoll, Staff Forester, Texas
A&M Forest Service, will discuss se-
lecting the right plants for the right soil
and location on your property, the time
to plant, proper planting techniques, care
of the new trees and shrubs, and more.
All Sun City residents are invited to
this interesting program.

Emergency Vets:
Do you know where
to find a veterinarian when your regular
vet is closed for the evening or weekend?
There are two emergency vets located in
Round Rock. You can get their informa-
tion on the club micro-site through the
Sun City Texas website, or by emailing
the club at
.
Is your pet micro-chipped?
Micro-
chipping is inexpensive, painless, and
can help get your pets back home quickly
should they get lost. Area veterinarians
would be happy to discuss with you the
value of micro-chipping.
Snakes in the grass:
A rattlesnake
bite to your pet can be deadly. Snakes
are quick, silent, and can be found all
around Sun City. For their own safety,
don’t let your cats roam free, and when
walking your dogs, be aware of your sur-
roundings. Keep them out of tall grass
and away from rock piles where snakes
might be hiding. Contact the Pet Club for
information on our next Snake Aversion
training event.
