September is when many residents re-
turn from their summer homes back to
Sun City. Now that we are all back to-
gether, drop in on the Billiards Center to
enjoy a game of pool with your old friends.
The Billiards Center is open 8 a.m.
to 9 p.m. on weekdays, and 8 a.m. to
7 p.m. on weekends. The phone num-
ber is 512-948-POOL (7665). We
are located at 1410 Sun City Blvd.,
across from the Pickleball courts.
Monday night is Social Billiards. This
is a great opportunity for ladies and
couples to play or learn to play with
no pressure. Drop in and have some
fun! Beginners are encouraged and
folks show up anytime after 6 p.m.
Members are eligible for lessons, tourna-
ments and special billiards parties. Our
stereo system plays background music,
the televisions show financial news in the
mornings and news and sports the rest
of the day. We are a WiFi hot spot, too!
Our players range from beginners to
expert. Annual dues are $11 per mem-
ber. Applications are available in the
Billiards Center and online at Sun City
website ticketing.
Bocce

We invite all Sun City residents to
come and enjoy the game of bocce. If
you like the game as much as we do, we
invite you to join our club. Our dues are

Become a member of one of Sun City’s
first chartered clubs. Aviation brings
folks together to reminisce about days
when they, their friends and their col-
leagues were more actively involved
in the industry. All are invited to
visit. Membership is not limited to
pilots, but to anyone with an interest
in aircraft, aviation history or the avia-
tion community. Dues are $12 a year.
Members meet on the second Saturday of
each month at 8:30 a.m. for a social time
of coffee and donut holes in the Atrium
of the Activities Center.

The BallroomDance club sponsors month-
ly events, Sunday afternoon Tea Dances
and social dances at Sun City. Both of this
month’s dances will feature a broad range
of prerecorded music, including Foxtrot,
Waltz, Rumba, Cha Cha, East and West
Coast Swing, Bolero, Samba, Night Club
Two Step, Tango and Merengue. Guests
are very welcome and encouraged to
please come and dance with us!
Ice water, plastic glasses, and napkins
will be provided for the regular monthly
dance, and guests are welcome to bring
their own special alcoholic beverage. For
the Sunday afternoon Tea Dance, hot tea,
iced tea and light refreshments will be
provided. Please feel free to bring your
own special teacup while you mix and
mingle with other members of the Ball-
room Dance Club.

are regularly on offer for current Ballroom
Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 8 a.m.
The
Healing Energy Group
will meet
on Thursday, September 11, at 9:30 a.m.
in Meeting Room 1, and on Thursday,
September 25, at 9:30 a.m. in Meeting
Room 3. Come and learn about and expe-
rience energy healing to promote health.

A club for all FCC licensed ham radio op-
erators, shortwave listeners (SWLs) and
radio or scanning enthusiasts, the Sun
City Amateur Radio Society (SCARS)
invites you to join us at the following
events:
• Club meetings on the first Wednesday
of every month.
•Wednesday morning coffee and “tech-
talk” group at City Market.
• Fox Hunt field event on every 2nd
Saturday.

access to SCARS’ fully equipped ham
shack, including state of the art HF/6m
and software-defined (SDR) transceivers
and dual-band VHF/UHF rig. SCARS
also maintains the 441.625 MHz Sun
City repeater (+ offset, pl tone 103.5),
which is open to any licensed amateur
radio operator.
Public Service-minded? When normal
communication modes are down, ham
radios still work and can contact outside
resources - locally, regionally and world-
wide. SCARS members are available to
assist Sun City and the local Georgetown
Fire and Police Departments during lo-
cal or regional emergencies and special
event communications when additional
radio resources are needed.

First Wednesday club meet-
ings start with a meet and greet at 6:30
p.m. A thirty minute business meeting
follows, and a radio/tech presentation
tops off the evening.
