Valero PGA Golf Tournament

Joinus aswe travel to SanAntonio
for the first round of the 2013 Valero Texas
Open. For the first time in its history, the Open
will be held the week before theMasters Tour-
nament as it returns for its fourth year to the
beautiful TPC San Antonio Oaks Course, a Greg Norman sig-
nature golf course. This official tour event is the longest running
tournament in the same city on the PGA tour and, as a warm-up
for the Masters, the 2013 Valero Texas Open will feature world
class PGA tour competition. Enjoywalking alongwith your favor-
ite golf pro or pick a hole where you can sit and enjoy the action.
Note: Therewill be extensivewalking, rain or shine, and
large crowds at this outdoor event. Wear comfortable
shoes, and bring your folding chairs and umbrella.
Ticket cost includes transportation and tournament admission.
All meals are on your own.

Fredericksburg – Rockbox Theater
& Wildflower Seed Farm

What could be better than a
trip to Fredericksburg inApril? Come celebrate
spring and the beautiful flowers of the season,
and see some outstanding entertainment.
We will start in Johnson City with lunch at
Chantilly Lace. Our meal will consist of salad, grilled chicken,
potatoes au gratin, green beans, homemade bread, and a choice
between two desserts, aswell as coffee or tea. Then it is on to Fred-
ericksburg where you will have a little time to wander through
the shops or do whatever you wish.
Following that, we will head to the Rockbox Theater to see the
show that celebrates the golden era of Rock and Roll. Currently
rated the #2 attraction in all of Texas by Trip Adviser, you can
check out the reviews on line. It’s a definite winner! Our reserved
seats will be waiting for us when we arrive.
The trip isn’t over yet, though, as we will stop at the Wildflower
Seed Farm before heading home. Amble through the gardens,
or you may wish to pick up some plants or seeds for your own
yard. Storage under the bus will accommodate your purchases.

New Braunfels - “City of a Prince”

New Braunfels is the only
Texas city founded by German royalty. Prince
Carl of Solms-Braunfels Germany, purchased
1,265 acres for $1,112 in 1845, and the “City
of a Prince” was born. Prince Carl led the first
settlers intoNewBraunfels. This story andmany others are found
at The Sophienburg and Heritage Village Museums.
The Sophienburg is a treasure trove of well preserved artifacts and
fascinating stories of NewBraunfels’ first settlers, and Heritage
Village includes the historic 1845 Breustedt-Dillon house, the
Museumof TexasHandmade Furniture, an amazing cabinet shop,
the Reininger Log Cabin, and the Breustedt Summer Kitchen.
Well versed docents will guide us. You will tour one museum in
the morning, have lunch and then tour the other museum.
Lunch will be at Schobel’s on the River. A home cooked buffet
lunch features six vegetables, a variety of hand cut meats, soup,
salad, desserts, and soft drinks. After our afternoon tour you
will have free time to explore a bit of old downtown. Check out
the railroad depot, or Henne’s Hardware, the oldest operating
hardware store in Texas (awesome!), or stop inNaegelin’s Bakery
for a treat to take home. Between museum visits, we will bus
along the historical streets to view some of the original homes.
Note: This is an active level 3 walking tour withmultiple
stops. Museum tours are 45-60 minutes in length.

Festival. The festival features living history
exhibits, military vehicle rides, aircraft displays
and K9 Search and Rescue Demo.
