We are one of the few spectator sports
in Sun City Texas! Come watch, come
play, come have some fun at beautiful
Del Webb Field.
It’s time to sign up for our Spring Season,
which starts on March 4 with games on
Mondays and Thursdays at 9 and 10:30
a.m., and 12 and 1:30 p.m. Practice and
pick up games will be every Tuesday and
Friday at 10:30 a.m.
Senior Coed Slow Pitch Softball is for
all ages and skill levels. We are a recre-
ational league, using Senior Rules, with
over one hundred members playing for
fun and exercise.
Annual dues are $12 with an additional
$10 for each season. Once you sign up
you will be assigned a team.
We are proud to be part of the Sun City
Texas community. We support the Boys
& Girls Club of Georgetown, University
of Texas Longhorns Softball, George-
town Police Blue Santa Program, and
our Sun City Veterans through the Ft.
Hood Officers Spouses Club assisting Ft.
Hood families.
Solos

The Solos club is a family of friends who
enjoy dining out, wine tasting, bowling,
golf, movies and lunch, social bridge,
pickleball, tubing, dancing, book clubs,
various group trips into Austin and giv-
ing back to the community through Solos
Care.
The 2013 dues to join Solos are $20 and
may be paid online at sctxca.org or at
Member Services Office.

Quarterly Dinner and BusinessMeet-
ing:
Wednesday, March 13, at 6 p.m. in
the Ballroom, themed “A Celtic Journey,”
Ruby K’s will be serving roast, Irish po-
tatoes/carrot medley, salad, bread and
dessert, beverages as usual. Entertain-
ment will be provided by the Georgetown
Pipes and Drum Band, Sun City Clog-
gers, Solos Singers and the Hill Country
Highland Dancers.
Thirsty Thursday
is each week, a so-
cial event at the Oaks from 5-6:30 p.m.
where Solos meet for fun, fellowship and
sometimes food. Newcomers are warmly
welcomed! Our membership Committee
will greet and introduce you to some of
our Solos.

The Stained Glass Studio is open week-
days from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. When you
are out enjoying the spring weather,
come in and visit the studio, chat with
members who are working on projects,
and browse the members’ art pieces that
are for sale.
The next orientation to stained glass
class will be in April. Watch the April
Sun Rays for further information. If you
want to join the club and have experience
in doing stained glass work, feel free to
come by the studio and discuss member-
ship with one of the current officers.
Sun City Amateur Radio
Society (SCARS)

The SCARS business meeting will be-
gin at 7 p.m., with a networking session
starting at 6:30 p.m. There will be a pre-
sentation this month about over the air
TV. You can get ABC, CBS, NBC and
PBS here without any problems for about
$100 in parts, saving you cable or satel-
lite costs. Come find out how.
The club also holds fox hunts on the sec-
ond Saturday of each month. These are
very enjoyable events where we track
down a hidden transmitter with direc-
tional antennas and ham radios.
The Sun City Amateur Radio Club, or
SCARS, maintains the Sun City repeater
on the 70cm band at 441.625 MHz, plus
dup, pl tone 103.5. This repeater is open
for use by any licensed amateur operator.
Amateur radio operators consistently
give back to the community by aiding
and supporting the authorities in emer-
gency situations as well as volunteering
our communications skills to help sup-
port other events in the area.
Sundancers

The Sundancers Square Dance on
Monday evenings and Round Dance on
Sunday evenings. All square and round
dancers are welcome to come and join the
fun. Check the square and round dance
website for the most up-to-date dance
schedules. The dress code is casual.
The Graduation Dance for our 2013 Main
Stream Class will be held on March 18.
Square Dance Schedule:
Mondays,
March 4, 18 and 25 will be in the Ball-
room. March 11, we will dance in the
Georgetown/Florence Room at Cowan
Creek.
