The following special events are taking place in March and April.
AARP TAX-AIDE
The nation’s largest volunteer-run tax
preparation and assistance service of-
fers special attention to those age 60 and
older. Assistance will be available every
Tuesday and Wednesday through April
10 at Cowan Creek from noon to 4 p.m.
Please bring the following:
• copy of last year’s income tax return(s);
• W-2 forms from each employer;
• unemployment compensation state-
ments;
• SSA-1099 form if you were paid Social
Security benefits;
• all 1099 forms (1099-INT, 1099-DIV,
1099-B, etc.)
• 1099-misc. showing any miscellaneous
income;
• 1099-R form if you received a pension
or annuity;
• all forms indicating federal income
tax paid;
• all receipts or canceled checks if item-
izing deductions;
• Social Security cards or other official
documentation for yourself and all
dependents.
SHILLING LECTURE
The Roy and Margaret Shilling Lecture
Series is pleased to welcome world-re-
nowned conservationist and United Na-
tions messenger of peace Jane Goodall
to Southwestern University on Tuesday,
April 2.
Tickets are required for this event, and
will first be available to the Southwest-
ern community, but open to the general
public on March 4.

KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS BINGO
Bingo will be offered in the Social Center
Ballroom on Sundays, March 3 and 24.
Doors open at 5 p.m. and games start
promptly at 6 p.m. All cash prizes award-
ed and proceeds are used to support

WILCO GENEALOGICAL SOCIETY
The Williamson County Genealogical
Society’s annual Seminar will be held on
Saturday, March 16 at the First United
Methodist Church, 1004 North Mays,
Round Rock. Registration and vendors

QUILT & STITCHERY SHOW
Georgetown’s annual Quilt & Stitchery
Show will be from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on
Friday and Saturday, March 22-23, at
the Georgetown Community Center,
445 E. Morrow St in San Gabriel Park.
This year’s show is titled, “Symphony
of Color,” and features vendors, a silent
auction, scissor sharpening, and a tea

R.O.C.K.’S BARN DANCE
The Ride On Center for Kids (R.O.C.K.),
will host its 2013 Barn Dance on Satur-
day, March 23. Throw on your favorite
dancing boots and enjoy a delicious buf-
fet dinner, discover treasures at live and
silent auctions, try your hand at the table
games, and dance the night away with
live entertainment.
The theme for the night is “Diamonds
are Forever.” The dance will be at 2050

ARCHEOLOGY DAY
Bring the grandkids to the Williamson
Museum’s annual Archeology Day from
10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, March 23
at Berry Springs Park and Reserve, 1801
C.R. 152 in Georgetown. Free hands-on
activities include pottery making, flint-
knapping, art rocks and the opportunity
to visit with archeologists and Native

WWII STORIES & PHOTOS
NEEDED
The Williamson Museum is pleased to
announce
World War II Comes to Wil-
liamson County,
opening May 24, 2013.
This exhibit uses personal stories to ex-
plore the impact of WWII in Williamson
County.
The museum is collecting stories, arti-
facts, and photographs from both long-
time and new residents for the exhibit.

ARTHRITIS WALK
The Arthritis Foundation will have its
2013 Arthritis Walk on Saturday, April
27 at 8 a.m. at Concordia University in
Austin. This fundraising event includes
both a one-mile and three-mile course,
with activities for all. This year’s event
will feature a new Senior Zone, offer-
ing resources, information and activities
targeted to the retired and senior com-
