Mark your calendars for our Spring
Plant Sale on Saturday, March 23 from
9 a.m. to 1 p.m. We focus on Texas na-
tives and other adapted plants for the
Central Texas area. Once again, we
will be taking
special orders
in early
March between 9-11 a.m. on
Saturdays
(March 2, 9, 16) and Thursday, March
14. Come by the Barn at 141 Sun City
Blvd. and talk to our plant experts about
your landscaping needs. Bring your CA-
approved landscape plans and let us
help your dreams become reality.
New this year will be plants grown
in our newly constructed commercial
greenhouse, where we hope to sell
plants all year long. Starting in Janu-
ary, we’ve been planting seeds for veg-
etables, herbs, annuals and perennials,
and they should be ready for purchase
mid-March. Come by the Nursery at the
hours listed above to see what we have.
The speaker at this month’s member
meeting will be Rob Grotty from the
Texas Forest Service. He will talk about
trees—the effects of the drought, differ-
ent tree diseases, how to properly plant
and prune trees, and more. Rob recently
spoke to the Nature Club and everyone
agreed it’s a great presentation and not
to be missed.
According to the National Weather Ser-
vice Climate Prediction Center, rainfall
should be average and temperatures
above average for March and April—
perfect planting conditions! Hope your
beds are ready for planting lots of spring
vegetables, herbs and ornamentals.
