We are one of the few spectator sports
in Sun City—watch, play and have some
fun at beautiful Del Webb Field!
Our winter season is underway and ends
February 21 with games at noon and
1:30 p.m.
Practice and pick up games every Tues-
day and Fridays at 10:30 a.m.
Mark your calendars now to sign up for
our regular spring season, which starts
in March. Watch for more information on
signing up and the start of the season.
Senior Coed Slow Pitch Softball is for
all ages and skill levels. We are a recre-
ational league, using Senior Rules, with
over one hundred members playing for
fun and exercise.
Annual dues are $12 with an additional
$10 for each season. Once you sign up
you will be assigned a team.
We are proud to be part of the Sun City
community. We support the Boys &Girls
Club of Georgetown, the University of
Texas Longhorns Softball team, George-
town Police Blue Santa Program, and
our Sun City Veterans through the Ft.
Hood Officers Spouses Club assisting Ft.
Hood families.

Club website.

Studio phone: 512-948-7662
The studio is looking forward to a busy
year, with many active members who
work in a wide variety of glasswork in-
cluding copper foil, kiln-formed, jewelry,
and mosaic items. We are fortunate to
have so many talented and creative
people as members. There are always
at least a few amazing things in-process
in the studio. We welcome visitors during
open hours, Monday through Friday from
9 a.m. to 4 p.m. We’ll show you around
and explain what goes into working with
glass. Most of the work in the studio is
for sale, so keep us in mind when you are
looking for a special gift. Our window
display changes monthly, so come back
often to check it out!

Amateur Radio Society
Wednesday, February 6, 7 p.m., CCF
Contact: Don Davidson, President,
512-300-9955 or
The business meeting will begin at 7
p.m. There will be a presentation of the
functions and features of oscilloscopes.
We will be presenting other types of test
equipment throughout the year. Sug-
gestions for presentations can be sent
to Doug Farrell at dfarrell2@yahoo.
com or brought up at a meeting. Come
and join us at 6:30 p.m. to meet the club
members.
The Sun City Amateur Radio Club or
SCARS maintains the Sun City repeater
on the 70cm band at 441.625 MHz, plus
dup, pl tone 103.5. This repeater is open
for use by any licensed amateur operator.
We also hold fox hunts on the second
Saturday of each month, where we track
down a hidden transmitter with direc-
tional antennas and ham radios. This
sharpens our skills in a potential rescue
situation. We meet at the Oaks parking
lot before the hunt to give the fox time
to hide and set up.
Amateur radio operators consistently
give back to the community by aiding
and supporting the authorities in emer-
gency situations, and volunteering our
communications skills to other events
in the area. Come and find out what we
are doing to provide communications
during emergencies. We can also help
get your weather radio programmed,
just contact us via the web or email us
at
.
Membership is open to anyone in Sun
City that has an interest in Amateur
Radio—you do not have to be a licensed
ham to participate in club activities.
