The Sun City Pet Club is a social club of
pet lovers and owners. The club meets
several times a year and features speak-
ers on subjects pertaining to our pets.
Dog training classes started in Janu-
ary and another class will be held in
mid-April. The Pet Club offers begin-
ner, intermediate, and advanced dog

and R.E.A.D. teams. These classes are
lead by Ruth Olsen, the club’s trainer.
Therapy dogs visit assisted living and
memory care facilities, several local el-
ementary schools, and the Georgetown
Library. The dogs are highly regarded,
and the program has been very success-
ful. For further information on how to
get involved in this program, contact
Tom Olsen or visit the website.
Dues for family memberships are $12
yearly, email the club for an application.
The March meeting will feature a Rally-

Contact: Sue March,
“Let’s Pickle!”
This is the unofficial call to arms (or
paddles) for the Pickleball Association
of Sun City Texas. Almost any morning
and afternoon members of the club are
on the courts noisily engaged in having
fun. The high-pitched ‘poink’ of the plas-
tic balls, friendly banter and laughter of-
ten guide curious onlookers to pause and
wonder, “Is it legal to have so much fun?”
The answer is an unequivocal, “YES!”
Pickleball in Sun City is played at sev-
eral levels. Players meet almost every
morning and afternoon for social play.
These are generally pick-up games in-
volving players of all skill levels and ev-
eryone is welcome to join in the action.
We also offer non-competitive social play
for women on Wednesdays and competi-
tive league play for those seeking to test
their skills. Players who enjoy serious
competition often participate in outside
events such as the Senior Games and
Senior Olympics.
If you’ve never played or are a begin-
ner, sign up for one of our free begin-
ner training classes. Our elite training
team will teach you the game. During
the class, you will learn rules and tech-
nique. Equipment is provided and each
class will be 1 ½ hours in length. The
beginner class occurs twice monthly with
