The club will host an Open House for all
Sun City residents on Saturday, Febru-
ary 23 from 2-4 p.m. at the 6-plus-acre
Community Garden, located at 141 Sun
City Blvd. near the softball field. We will
give tours of the entire Garden, includ-
ing the herb garden, nursery, orchard,
and vineyard. We will also highlight
our new, fully-automated Greenhouse,
which should be brimming with plants
started for our Spring Plant Sale. We
will also explain how to rent one of our
265 raised garden beds, each with its
own faucet with water provided by our
onsite water well. We want to acquaint
Sun City residents with our club, the
Community Gardens and all we have
to offer.

Mark your calendars for our Spring
Plant Sale on Saturday, March 23 from
9 a.m. to 1 p.m. We focus on Texas na-
tives and other adapted plants for the
Central Texas area. Once again, we will
be taking special orders in early March
between 9-11 a.m. on Saturdays (March
2, 9, 16) and Thursday, March 14. Bring
your CA approved landscape plan and
we’ll help you find the best plants for
your yard.
The member meetings for the rest of the
year will be on the
First Tuesdays
of
each month, so be sure to mark your
calendar for February 5. You can always
check the club calendar on the website
for the latest information.

The
Februarymeeting
features licensed
crappie guide Rob Jolliff, who fishes for
crappie at several Central Texas lakes.
He will discuss techniques and which
lakes to fish various times of the year.
A
trout fishing tournament
will be on
Sunday, February 10 from 8 a.m. to noon
at Berry Creek Pond. Several hundred
rainbow trout will be released prior to the
tournament. All Sun City residents and
guests are invited to participate.
Membership:
Annual dues are $12 for
one and $20 for two persons in the house-
hold. Sign up online or at the Member
Services Office.
