Newly retired or new to Sun City? Look-
ing for a fun hobby that you never had
time to pursue? Welcome to the RCMod-
elers. We build them and we run them:
airplanes, sailboats, helicopters, quads,
powerboats, cars and off-roaders. Come
and learn how with a group just like you.
Lots of members (men and women) new to
the hobby along with some seasoned hob-
byists who will show you how. We’re just
over three years old and we’ve already
grown to over 160 members. If you’re not
interested in the “live stuff,” we have
a computer-controlled flight simulator
which we “fly” at our weekly meetings.
Monthly activities include flying rotor
craft, small airplanes and run cars/off-
road vehicles in the Social Center Ball-
room, as well as other fun events at Berry
Creek Pond.
March schedule:
Sunday, March 1, SCB:
Rotor Craft: 10:30 a.m.
Cars/Trucks: 12:30 p.m.
Fixed Winged Aircraft: 1:30 p.m.
Sunday, March 29:
Boating, Berry Creek Pond: 1 p.m.
Tuesdays and Saturdays:
Sailing, Berry Creek Pond: 10 a.m.
We fly small electric airplanes on the golf
driving range while it is closed on Mon-
days. We fly every evening at the White
Wing driving range, 30 minutes after the
golf shop is closed. We need light wind
conditions to fly, so our flying usually
takes place in the early mornings or eve-
nings. If you see us out flying or sailing,
stop by and say hello. For a membership
application, please visit our website via
