Pet

The next round of dog training will be-
gin in April. As usual, there will be an
informational meeting for individuals
who have not yet taken classes through
the Pet Club. This meeting will be held
in Rooms 1 and 2 at 6:30 p.m. in the Ac-
tivities Center, which is directly across
from the Social Center Ballroom located
on Texas Drive.
One of the issues that the Pet Club pro-
vides assistance with in Sun City is find-
ing lost cats and dogs. Should you lose
an animal or find a stray, please contact
the Pet Club for help in bringing this pet
home. Please also notify the Monitors at
Texas Drive and Cowan Creek (numbers
available on page six of your Resource
Guide and Directory).
If you want to learn more about train-
ing your dog, consider signing up for a
training class either with the Pet Club
or another training facility. We suggest
enquiring about the type or style of train-
ing used, whether it is positive or nega-
tive reinforcement. Instructor RuthOlsen
uses only positive reinforcement, which
is the best form of training.

“Fun, Friends and Fitness” is the Pick-
leball Club motto – come and experience
it all firsthand!
Pickleball is an active game combining
elements of tennis, badminton and ping
pong. Played on a doubles’ badminton
court with paddles and a perforated plas-
tic ball, all it requires are workout clothes,
court shoes and a desire to play the game.
Whether you are new to pickleball or are
a seasoned veteran with tournament ex-
perience, we have a level of play suited
to your needs.
Our club offers a free introductory train-
ing class for beginners, which provides a
fundamental overview of the skills needed
to play the game. We also sponsor a men-
tor program, in which some of our more
experienced players assist beginners
with rule assimilation and suggestions
on technique. Of course, the best way to
become proficient at pickleball is to actu-
ally play the game. Courts five and six are
