charitable events
and fundraisers
and
to publish
volunteer opportunities
. We do not publicize monthly
meetings. All information must be received by the first of the month prior

The following special events are taking place in March.
AARP FREE TAX PREPARATION
AARP Tax-Aide Foundation offers income
tax assistance to those 60 and older every
Friday from9 a.m. to 4 p.m. through April
10 at CowanCreekAmenity Center. AARP
membership is not required.
Please bring the following:
• Copy of last year’s income tax return(s)
• W-2 forms from each employer
•Unemployment compensation statements
• SSA-1099 form if you were paid Social
Security benefits
• All 1099 forms (1099-INT, 1099-DIV,
1099-B, etc.)
• 1099-misc. showing any miscellaneous
income
• 1099-R form if you received a pension
or annuity
• All forms indicating federal income tax
paid
• All receipts or canceled checks if
itemizing deductions
• Social Security cards or other official
documentation for yourself and all
dependents
Georgetown High School
Band Garage Sale
The Georgetown High School Band will
hold a garage sale fundraiser on Saturday,
March 7 from 7:30 a.m. to noon in the
Georgetown High School Music Building
at 2211 N. Austin Avenue. Donations are
needed andmay be dropped off March 2-6
from 4-7 p.m. at the same location (look
for the band truck).
KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS BINGO
Bingo will be held on Sunday, March
8 and Sunday, March 22 in the Social
Center Ballroom. Doors open at 5:30 p.m.,
games begin at 6 p.m. Cash prizes will be
awarded. All proceeds are used to support
various charitable activities.

The music of George Gershwin will
highlight the Temple Symphony
Orchestra’s annual “Family Pops Concert”
on Sunday, March 8, 4 p.m., in the GHS

The SanGabriel Chorale, conducted byDr.
Bruce Cain, will present the local premiere
performance of the oratorio,

guest soloists. The event is scheduled for
Thursday, March 12, at 7 p.m. in the Alma
Thomas Theater of the Sarofim School
of Fine Arts, Southwestern University
Campus, Georgetown, Texas. Tickets can

The Williamson County Genealogical
Society’s annual Seminar will be Saturday,
March 21, at the First Methodist Church,

Georgetown Quilt and
Stitchery Show
TheGeorgetownQuilt and Stitchery Show,
“Lovely inLavender,” will be held onMarch
27 and 28, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., at the
Georgetown Community Center in San
Gabriel Park, 445E.MorrowStreet, 78626.
Admission is $6. Featuring over 100 quilts
and stitchery items, vendors, a raffle quilt,
a tea roomwith homemade goodies, a silent
auction and scissor sharpening. The show
is a fundraiser for Handcrafts Unlimited,
a non-profit retail store selling itemsmade
