Movie in the Park
On Thursday, August 14, the Georgetown
Parks &RecreationDepartment will pres-
ent a free viewing of
LegoMovie
. The mov-
ie will be held in the Gazebo area of San
Gabriel Park in Georgetown. The movie
will begin at sunset, approximately 8:45

KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS BINGO
Bingo in the Ballroomwill be held on Sun-
days, August 10 and 24 in the Social Center
Ballroom. Doors open at 5 p.m. and games
begin at 6 p.m. Cash prizes will be award-
ed. All proceeds support various charitable

Summer Sculpture Show
The Georgetown Public Library will host
the seventh annual Texas Society of Sculp-
tors Summer Show through Friday, Sep-
tember 26. The free exhibit is featured on
the second floor of the library. A sculpture
demo will be on Sunday, August 3 at 1 p.m.
on the second floor of the library, featuring
several of the featured sculptors demon-
strating their techniques. As part of the
exhibition, on Saturday, September 13,
a stone cutting demonstration will be at
Texas Carved Stone, 6621Highway 195 in
Florence, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. For more

United way’s Day of Caring
Friday, September 26 marks this year’s
Day of Caring for United Way of William-
son County. This annual event invites in-
dividuals, families, groups and businesses
to help local nonprofit agencies and schools
with projects that will benefit children and
families across Williamson County. Kick-
off begins at 8 a.m. at the Dell Diamond
for coffee, breakfast, and a short program.
From 9 a.m. to noon, volunteers will be at
work sites across Williamson County for
much-needed projects such as sorting dona-
tions, beautifying our community, clean-
ing parks and playgrounds, painting and
more.

The Palace Theatre presents

For the first time at the Palace, we bring
you this hilarious and moving musical

Symphony Society
The Georgetown Symphony Society’s
2014-2015 Season will begin on Sunday,
September 14 at 4 p.m., with a concert by
the Temple SymphonyOrchestra. The new
season will feature four concerts by the
Temple Symphony, one by the Round Rock
Symphony, featuring pianist Anton Nel,
and a recital by Fei-Fei Dong, a Finalist in
the 2013 VanCliburn International Piano
Competition. All six events will be held at
the Klett Center for the Performing Arts.

American Legion Auxiliary
The Georgetown American Legion Auxil-
iary (ALA) Unit 174 is a nonprofit service
organizationmade up of womenwho honor
the sacrificemade by all veterans, military
men and women currently serving, and
their families through community service,
student scholarships, financial assistance
for veterans, andmore. To become a volun-
teer, you must be a spouse of a veteran; if
your spouse is living, she must be a mem-
ber of the American Legion. Daughters,
granddaughters and great granddaughters
of a veteranwho served during a declared
conflict may also volunteer for the ALA. If
