Hutch presents the Volunteer of the Month plaques to Wendy & Ron D'Entremont and John Sena for their terrific work on designing, building and installing our new Pickleball Backboard.

Wendy & Ron D'Entremont

In a galaxy far, far away, Ron and Wendy were born (Lynn, Massachusetts and Chicago, Illinois respectively)! Through the twists and turns of life, we eventually married. We have 3 children and 4 grandchildren all happy and healthy. We were transferred to Austin, Texas, by my employer 25 years ago. I eventually started a business in 1999, and I still work part time doing contract and consulting work.

We moved to Sun City around 9 years ago and enjoy the many activities, including golf (Wendy loves to play more than life itself!), pickleball, which we have grown to love because of the exercise, being outdoors and all of the great people who are involved. Also like playing games like poker and Trivial Pursuit. One more interesting point, did you know that at one point I was a “Chippendale” dancer, better known as “Rambo Ron.” THAT'S OUR STORY AND WE'RE STICKING TO IT!

John Sena

John and his wife, Maria, moved to Sun City in December 2014, from Yukon, Oklahoma, to be closer to family. John is retired from the US Army (27 years) and the US Postal Service (20 years). John had never heard of pickleball until moving to Sun City but had played racquetball. Now he plays as often as he can. It's addictive! Besides playing pickleball, John is a member of the Horticulture club.
