Rules and Regulations

The Sun City Texas pickleball courts are private courts belonging to the Sun City Texas Community Association, Inc. (CA). The Sun City Texas Pickleball Club (SCTPC), a Chartered Club of the CA, has responsibility for the administration, scheduling and court usage.

The SCTPC Executive Board will carry out the necessary tasks to fulfill those responsibilities. Courts are provided for CA members and their qualified guests. All users of the courts must do so in accordance with established rules and regulations, which are listed below.

  • SCTPC Chartered Club Bylaws - The Sun City Texas Pickleball Club (SCTPC) Chartered Club Bylaws, dated July 23, 2023 outline membership, board responsibilities, club meetings, grievance procedures, financial controls and procedures, club committees and procedure for amendments to the bylaws. 
  • SCTPC RULES AND REGULATIONS The SCTPC Court Rules and Regulations provides guidance for court usage, court etiquette, safety, violations of rules on court conduct, and conflict resolution for the Sun City pickleball courts.

  • SCTPC PADDLE RACK SYSTEM The SCTPC Paddle Rack System outlines the paddle rack system and etiquette at all three court locations.
  • International Federation of Pickleball Official Rules To ensure consistency in rules and regulations wherever pickleball is played, the International Federation of Pickleball was organized to perpetuate the growth and advancement of pickleball throughout the world. Member organizations, including the U.S. observe the IFP Official Rulebook.
  • International Federation of Pickleball Rating System Player ratings under the IFP Rating System are used to group players by ability levels so that players can compete in tournaments or leagues with other players of similar ability. Sun City uses a self-rating system, however, club members are encouraged to gauge their skill level by matching it against the ratings and descriptions provided by the IFP.
